Activity Description
Celebrate the spirit of the Olympic Games with this fantasy-style challenge. Girls choose their “top country” for each Olympic sport, then earn points based on how many medals that country wins. It’s a mix of luck, knowledge, and strategy and a brilliant way to follow the Games together as a unit.
How to Play
1. Distribute worksheets - Choose either written (for older girls) or cut-and-stick flags (for younger girls)
2. Select Countries - Each girl (or six/patrol) selects one country per sport that they think will win the most medals (for example, France - swimming)
3. Scoring - As the Games progress, check the official Olympic results. 3 points for Gold 🥇, 2 points for Silver 🥈, 1 point for Bronze 🥉. Add up the points after each day (if you're obsessed like me!) or at the end of the Games. We’ve provided a spreadsheet above that auto-calculates scores based on medal tables. Just enter the units' predictions and watch the leaderboard update.
5. Winning - The player/team with the highest total medals is the winner!
